Robert Radcliffe

Bob Radcliffe is the owner and manager of Brite Lite Services.  He is a Computer Science graduate of Penn State and has significant computer experience in hardware, software and operating systems.  He has designed and conducted computer-training classes for users at all levels, in a variety of applications.


Mr. Radcliffe has over 38 years of professional computer experience.


Experience:

1 year working with a Federal Law Enforcement Agency:

  • Network support engineer

3 years at Thales Transportation:

  • Conceptual design of complex software and hardware solutions at the system level, including documentation and customer presentations.
  • Develop software solutions for computer tools used with people mover systems, including system availability and maintenance devices.
  • Perform formal software testing.
  • Develop estimate plans for projects including detailed time and resources that will be required.
  • Deliver tools to customer sites for testing or deployment.

5 years with Brite Lite Services:

  • Provide network support and installations, including network administration and design.
  • Specializing in migration from xp to windows 7 for small companies, server integration, administration and migration to virtual or hosted servers, backup and disaster recovery, virus protection and removal.

2 years at Bacharach Inc.:

  • Restructured IT info structure, stabilized network, Converted mail system from Exchange 5.5 to 2003, developed a 2003 Active Directory domain, and eliminated old servers.
  • Create new users and Active Directory security.
  • Merged/consolidated/converged servers to a full 2003 environment (Windows Server 03, Active Directory 03, Exchange 03)
  • Removed extensive virus infestation and implemented Avast antivirus.
  • Setup TRACK-IT software to manage helpdesk and network hardware and software inventory.
  • Manage phone system and overview new replacement system.
  • Installed and managed Terminal Services environment.
  • Trouble shoot user hardware and software problems.
  • Develop new firewall rules and implement VPN access.
  • Oversee the purchase of all computer hardware and software.
  • Manage Microsoft Frontbridge anti-spam services.
  • Close out the month and year end process on the Unix platform and manage the Unix environment.
  • Create disaster recovery plan using backup exec and removable external data drives secured in an offsite bank box with appropriate documents.

8 years running and operating Brite Lite Computers:

  • Regional support of some mid to large sized companies doing various tasks of building, setting up and support of Windows 2003 / 2000 Servers, Citrix, Active Directory, Routers & Hubs, Token Ring, Ethernet, Firewalls, also Workstations XP & 2000.  
  • Provide expert training to systems users and business professionals.
  • 2003 Exchange server setup and maintenance.
  • Network support for 22 small businesses in Pittsburgh area.
  • Custom Built Workstations and servers for small to midrange customers.
  • VOIP and digital phone system sales and installations.
  • Surveillance camera installation and custom made DVD servers.
  • Computer sales and repairs to general public and private businesses.
  • Developed custom software in Visual Basic and Clipper.
  • Maintain data base files, replace defective components, eliminate and detect virus programs.

10 years at the Kurt J. Lesker Co:

  • Developed and implemented entire network infrastructure on Servers & Workstations: Windows 2000, NT, 98, XP, Novell, Citrix, Active Directory, Routers and Switches.
  • Coordinate and support surveillance needs.
  • UNIX server, SUN Solaris Firewall, Linux mail server.
  • Support and training for over 130 users and 5 branch locations, including International sister companies in both Western and Eastern Europe.

10 years providing support and consulting services for various companies in and around the Pittsburgh area and starting one of the first Commadore 64 user clubs in Pittsburgh along with basic computer classes and early network design.
